福音的目标，是使我们信靠、爱慕，并顺服上帝的儿子耶稣基督。归信耶稣基督，使我们与祂进入关系，而这关系的重点，就是信靠祂、爱祂，并顺服祂为我们的主。虽然我们对主的信、爱与顺服都不完全，但上帝的福音应许：凡信靠耶稣基督为主的人，都必得着罪的赦免和永生。在这与主耶稣基督的关系中，我们依靠圣灵改变生命，并遵行上帝所喜悦的旨意，使我们能够活出上帝所喜悦的圣洁生命（弗1:4、帖前4:3、帖前4:7、多2:11–12、彼前1:15–16）来荣耀上帝。
The goal of the gospel is to believe, love, and obey Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Conversion brings us into a relationship with Jesus Christ, which is to believe, love, and obey Him as Lord. Although our believing, loving, and obeying are imperfect, the gospel of God promises forgiveness of sins and eternal life to all who put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. In this relationship with Jesus Christ as our Lord, we obey Him by depending on the Holy Spirit to change our lives and to obey what God desires for us to live a holy life (Eph 1:4、1 Thess 4:3、1 Thess 4:7、Titus 2:11–12、1 Peter 1:15–16) to glorify God.
